Protection is Solidarity Made Visible
The Marie Masdupuy Protection Fund is dedicated to Marie Masdupuy, former Ambassador of France to Bangladesh, whose solidarity offered protection, courage, and recognition to human rights defenders and the transgender community during difficult times.
Her support was not symbolic alone. It created a sense of safety when visibility became dangerous.
Marie Masdupuy’s courage and solidarity went far beyond formal diplomacy.
At a time when visibility became dangerous for gender minorities and human rights defenders in Bangladesh, Marie Masdupuy used her diplomatic position, voice, and available resources to create spaces of safety, recognition, and dignity. She did not only observe our struggles from a distance-she stood beside us when standing beside us required courage.
For Krishnachura and many members of the transgender and gender-diverse community, her support became a source of protection, strength, and hope. She showed that diplomacy can be more than protocol; it can be an act of human rights defense.
In her honor, Krishnachura establishes the Marie Masdupuy Protection Fund to support gender minorities who face threats, violence, displacement, harassment, emergency vulnerability, or sudden crisis.
This fund carries forward her legacy of courageous solidarity-protecting those who are targeted for who they are, how they live, and what they dare to defend.
Protection is not charity.
Protection is courage in action.
Protection is solidarity made visible.
Why This Fund Exists
Movements survive because someone chooses to stand beside those under attack.
In Bangladesh, gender minorities often become primary targets during political instability, religious extremism, social backlash, and moral policing.
The Marie Masdupuy Protection Fund transforms solidarity into a practical protection mechanism.
Areas of Support
Our Philosophy
Protection is not charity.
Protection is political care.
Protection is the infrastructure that allows human rights defenders and gender minorities to continue living, organizing, creating, and dreaming.
Closing Statement
This fund carries a legacy of courage and solidarity.
It is dedicated to those who protect others quietly, and to those who continue resisting even when the world asks them to disappear.
