Krishnachura
Krishnachura Institute
Trans is not only an identity. Trans is a movement.
The Krishnachura Institute for Non-Cis Life, Knowledge & Liberation
Trans is not only an identity. Trans is a movement.
The Krishnachura Institute is envisioned as Bangladesh’s first learning and knowledge space created by and for non-cis communities.
We reject the idea that knowledge about gender minorities must always be produced by outsiders.
We believe non-cis people are not only beneficiaries.
We are authors of knowledge.
We are creators of culture.
We are builders of future institutions.
What the Institute Will Build
Movement Education
Rights, safety, leadership, health, and strategy training for non-cis individuals.
Trans-Led Research
Research rooted in anthropology, feminism, public health, and lived realities.
Archives and Memory Work
Photography, textiles, oral histories, visual culture, and movement documentation.
Leadership and Care Practice
Training future leaders in collective protection, ethics, sustainability, and accountability.
Regional Solidarity
Connecting Bangladesh’s gender minority movement with South Asia and the Global South.
Our Method
We study the everyday:
The clinic.
The street.
The home.
The workplace.
The shelter.
The prayer.
The dress.
The fear.
The laughter.
Because everyday life is where power hides.
And where resistance begins.
Our Promise
We will not build an institute that imitates the systems that exclude us.
We are not waiting to be included.
We are building.
Our Future
We dream of a Bangladesh where non-cis people do not have to be extraordinary to be safe.
Where our existence is ordinary, respected, and protected.
This Institute is a step toward that future.
We are not waiting to be included.
We are building.
Krishnachura Institute
Non-cis knowledge. Community power. Cultural memory. Liberation practice.
